Most huddles fail because they run long, turn into a monologue, or turn into a complaint session about yesterday. This sheet fixes that by giving the team a fixed set of blanks to fill in, standing up, in under ten minutes.
It follows the same flow every day: a win, the scoreboard, a scan of the schedule for gaps and opportunities, who owns today's follow-up items, and a close. Nobody has to remember the agenda because it is printed in front of them.
Run it consistently and you get fewer surprises during the day and a record, at the bottom of the sheet, of what the huddle actually produced.
What's inside
- A meta bar for the date, the huddle leader (rotate the role weekly), and start/end time
- Celebrate a win, the scoreboard (yesterday's goal vs. actual, today's target by provider)
- The daily scan and opportunity blitz, with a prep line for each role: doctor, hygienist, assistant, front office
- Action items and the bottleneck check, plus the kickoff
- A callout naming the three killers to avoid
- An end-of-day line to log same-day additions, unscheduled cases closed, and whether the target was hit
How to use it
- Print one sheet per day, or drop it in a binder the huddle leader brings to the morning meeting.
- Fill in the date, leader, and start time before the team gathers, standing up.
- Work top to bottom in order. Each role fills in their own line during the daily scan.
- Assign the follow-up calls and the emergency patient owner out loud before you close.
- At the end of the day, come back to the bottom row and log what the huddle actually closed.
