PPOs & Dental Insurance

The math on staying in network, and how to get out of it.

Insurance is the single biggest lever on a practice's profit per hour, and it is the one most owners never touch because the fear of empty chairs is louder than the arithmetic. I have dropped plans in my own practices and helped other owners do it, and the pattern is consistent: the practice loses fewer patients than it dreaded and earns more per hour than it expected.

These articles are the whole argument, in order. How to read what a PPO actually pays you against your break-even, how to tell an underpayment from a write-off you agreed to, how a membership plan replaces the insurance conversation at the front desk, and how to leave a plan without a cliff.
